UPDATED KITCHEN REMODEL
An Updated Kitchen
This kitchen remodel achieved a profound transformation for this outdated Camano Island beach home.
When a kitchen is outdated, you feel it everywhere you turn. From storage issues, to clunky floorplans, and laminate countertops that lack durability, an updated kitchen remodel can transform your home and yield a large return on investment. In this remodel, we replaced outdated kitchen cabinetry with rich espresso-finished cabinetry complemented with Pental Sparkling White quartz countertops along the wall, but white cabinets and darker Pental quartz in Grey Savoie for the island counter. The horizontal tile backsplash adds texture to the kitchen without overwhelming. By removing some of the original wall cabinetry we created space and breath in the room. New kitchen appliances in stainless steel pair with the new sink, faucet, and cabinet hardware for a sleek modern aesthetic. Elongated teardrop pendant lights over the bar serve the secondary purpose of visually separating the kitchen from the dining room.
We transformed an open space behind the island bar into a sitting room by removing a railing and adding subfloor. We laced in red oak hardwood with a grey stain to match in order to create the friendly sitting area just off the kitchen. The original space overlooked the office, which we converted into a chic wine room perfect for lazy nights in or hosting guests.
We refinished and re-stained the old narrow blonde wood floor in the kitchen and dining area with wider grey oak finished flooring to tie the rooms together. We also updated the window frames throughout the house to create more cohesion.
As you may have already guessed, this kitchen remodel was a part of a whole home remodel. Other rooms we remodeled included the primary bathroom, guest bathroom, dining room, bedroom and living room along with the stairwell and game room. A whole home remodel might be right for you if you have multiple spaces you are looking to improve and you plan to live in your home for many more years to come.
