This tiny hall bathroom presented quite a challenge in this lakeside home, so we focused on maximizing space and carefully selecting natural accents so as not to overwhelm the room. We used warmly colored Sapele wood (African mahogany) to build the custom 18” deep vanity, topped with a lightly marbled Pental quartz countertop and his-and-hers undermount sinks with single handle faucets. A recessed cabinet above the vanity hides additional storage behind a wide beveled edge mirror. We replaced the original bulky shower and bathtub with a low threshold walk-in shower.
Pebble flooring in the shower offers a unique pop of texture and color variety, with the added bonus of a gentle foot massage. Large grey 12” x 24” marble-look porcelain tiles create the shower walls, including two wide built-in niches for bottles and soaps. The frameless sliding glass door creates the illusion of an open shower without requiring additional space. The homeowner’s artistic vision for this room is evident in the tiniest details, while careful consideration maximized space, storage, and room to move.
