Closet to Master Bath

This master bathroom remodel focused on maximizing space without sacrificing aesthetics or comfort. Believe it or not, this bathroom started out as the master walk-in closet!

We switched the rooms in order to achieve the master bathroom the owners would love and enjoy. We built a custom beech wood vanity, stained a rich dark brown, as well as a custom storage bench with deep drawers opposite the vanity. We used richly veined white and black granite both for the countertops and atop the storage bench. No one likes cold tile on nippy days, so we also installed heating underneath the tile floor. Along the same idea, we added a towel warmer for that fresh-out-of-the-dryer feeling all year.

The shower got a facelift and added conveniences like built-in niches for soap and bottles. And while it isn’t the most exciting part of this project, we also installed a mudset pan in the shower in place of the old fiberglass pan. The new pebble floor of the shower pairs nicely with the accent border of horizontal glass tiles near the ceiling, and echoes the black, white, and deep grays of the granite in the bathroom itself. Did you know pebble shower floors have the added bonus of providing a mini foot massage? To finish the shower off, we installed a beautiful swinging glass door.

What We Love:

The oversized walk-in shower is complemented by extra storage in this bathroom to maximize space—and who doesn’t love the simple luxury of a warm towel on chilly mornings?

Our Favorite Detail:

The custom granite storage bench opposite the vanity not only ties the room together, but it also offers a convenient spot to sit and get ready for the day ahead.
