1. Snohomish Community Tree Lighting

The Snohomish Community Tree Lighting takes place at 5:00 pm at First Street & Avenue B. Tim Noah and Mayor Kartak will be lighting the tree. Immediately after the tree lighting, we will have community Christmas carols around the tree led by Tim Noah. Loads of Christmas fun for the whole family. (November 28, 2020 from 5 p.m.)

2. Snowflake Lane

Enjoy a 20-minute show of lights, music, falling snow, young dancers, and drummers in uniform on Snowflake Lane (Bellevue Way between N.E. 4th & N.E. 8th). Arrive early for the best view. Free. (every night at 7 p.m. from November 27 – December 24, 2020)

3. Chase the Grinch Outta Snohomish Fun Run

Snohomish Running Company and Historic Downtown Snohomish Association are hosting the 7th Annual Chase the Grinch out of Snohomish 5K 10K Run. This year’s run will feature a socially distanced and COVID-19 mitigated live run on December 18th and 19th. Participants will be able to choose their own start times while at the same time enjoying fun on course decorations and cut-outs. A virtual run option is available from December 16th through December 24th. Each participant will receive a custom buff, finisher medal and bib number with their registration. 4. Surfin a Beach Boys Christmas

Don’t miss this special night filled with Christmas Magic as Surfin’ – The Beach Boys Tribute serves up all the holiday Classics “Little St. Nick”, “The Man With All The Toys”, “Santa’s Beard”, “Frosty The Snowman”, “White Christmas” and many more favorites written “Beach Boys” style…along with the biggest Beach Boys hits. SURFIN’… a great show, a great time, and fun, fun, fun till your Daddy takes the Reindeer away. An unforgettable evening featuring the music of SURFIN’ – The Beach Boys Tribute. 5. The Nutcracker Ballet

Join us in 2020 for Pacific Northwest Ballet’s favorite holiday tradition from the comfort of home. Stream this archival performance of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® with the unique-to-Seattle scenery and costumes by Ian Falconer and immerse yourself in a candy-filled dreamland.  Streaming starts on December 18, 2020 and on December 11, 2020 for Digital Performance Plus ticket buyers.

6. Wild Lanterns

Explore the zoo like never before with a brand-new lantern festival unlike any in the Northwest! WildLanterns presented by Sound Credit Union offers a larger-than-life, immersive experience that will “wow” anyone, no matter their age! WildLanterns will take the place of the traditional Woodland Park Zoo WildLights event this year. Begin your expedition by strolling through the Living Northwest exhibit with lanterns of animals many of us are familiar with, including grizzly bears, eagles and mountain goats. (November 13, 2020 – January 17, 2021, closed Mondays, November 26 and December 24th & 25th from 4 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.).

7. Caroling Competition

The 34th Annual Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition is going virtual and will be spread out over a few nights. The musical performances, peoples’ love for Figgy Pudding, and stories from the folks who benefit from the money raised will be shared. All proceeds benefit the Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank. (November 29 – December 4, 2020)

8. Winter Solstice Walk

Enjoy a candlelit walk on the river trail in Snohomish, WA to celebrate the season. The luminaries will be lit at sunset.  (December 21, 2020 from about 4 p.m. – 8pm.)

9. Freestyle Lighted Car Cruise

Join the car cruise fun on the Saturday before Christmas.  Car clubs, truck groups, motorcycle clubs and individuals from around the area join the fun by driving decorated and lighted vehicles around the city, doing laps along First Street, Avenue D, Second Street and Cedar Avenue in downtown Snohomish. (December 19, 2020 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.)

10. Santa Train

Don’t miss your chance to experience this unique holiday tradition that has been going on in Snoqualmie for over 50 years. Over four weekends, beginning November 28, families can take a holiday train excursion aboard Santa Train to visit Santa Claus at the historic Snoqualmie Depot in North Bend, WA. Children and their families will enjoy music, fresh-baked cookies from coal-fired ovens, hot cocoa and fresh coffee, and a small gift for each child. (The two-hour holiday celebration takes place November 28-29, December 5-6, December 12-13 and December 18-19. Friday, December 18th is the Victorian Santa Train!)
